How to take a typing test :

1. Sit in Right Posture on Computer

Before start a typing test, you should sit in correct posture in front of your computer. (If you are using a laptop than, you should attach a external keyboard with it). Your  eyes should be in lever with your monitor and hands elbow should be inline with keyboard height. Your feet should be touching on ground and keep your hands near your body.

2. Placement of Fingers on Keyboard

The 'F' and 'J' keys have a raised bar or a dot allowing your finger to identify them. Once you have placed your both indexes on those keys, the other fingers are placed on the keys next to them. 'A' 'S' 'D' 'F' and 'J' 'K' 'L' ';' are the base positions for your fingers. Your fingers should go from the base position to the key that you want to press and after pressing the key it should backs at base position.

In order to type fast you have to be careful about which finger to use to press a key. Always use same finger to type same key. Take a look at the drawing below. A virtual dividation of keyboard layout in two parts.

 

Each color match a finger. For example the right index is green and has to type only the green keys of right hand side. Always try to type with both hands. Always use thumb of any hand for press the space bar.

3. Now enter your name, select time duration for test and select a passage to type.

4. Read and type the highlighted word, without seeing the keyboard.

5. Type till time elapsed or passage over.

6. Get instant result showing typing speed in WPM, Accuracy level and errors you have made during typing.

Inscript Hindi Typing Exam

For preparing of Inscript Hindi Typing Test Exam, you can take test on Exam like software.

Typing Test Certificate - For getting typing skill certificate select minimum 10 minutes time and a passage from above list. Your speed should be minimum 25 WPM with 80% or above accuracy.

Just enter your name, select time duration for test, select test exercise or upload your own exercise and start test. Here you have exam like environment, passage will appear on upper side and you have to type in bottom text box.

As you start typing, your timer starts automatically and will submit upon time elapsed, if you have typed whole exercise text you can submit yourself too. Here you have option to use backspace or you can disable it. Here you can disable/ enable the word highlighter and right wrong marker as per your convenience. Here you can download the passage and hide the passage. After completing Inscript exam test. It will show you detailed analysis of your typing skill along with typing speed in Word Per Minute (WPM) and accuracy in percentage.

Inscript Hindi Typing Test Process

1. You should sit in the right posture on the computer before start test.

2. After selecting time and passage (you can paste your own passage also) of your choice. Click on start test button.

3. You will see a passage appear on upper side of screen and first word is Highlighted.

4. Make sure you have enabled Devanagari Inscript keyboard in your system.

5. As you press first key from keyboard your test countdown timer will start automatically.

6. As you typed a word and press space bar, the word highlighter will moves to next word. You have to type highlighted words as much as you can type in given time period.

7. After completion of time, you will see test score in Net WPM, Accuracy and errors you have made during typing.

8. Now you can analyze what are the characters and words you have typed wrong during test, you should do targeted practice of erroneous characters to mitigate them in next attempt.

9. If you qualified the said criteria, you can get a free typing certificate also.

10. You should take test again and again to improve your typing skill.

What is Inscript Hindi Keyboard ?

Inscript is the Indian standard keyboard layout for typing in Indian languages. Inscript keyboard facilitate typing in Hindi as well as in other Indian languages like Marathi, Bangla etc. Inscript keyboard are works with Unicode based Hindi fonts like Mangal font.

For type in inscript Hindi you can use your exiting QWERTY keyboard, just enable Devanagari inscript keyboard and your system will be able to type in Inscript layout.

Keyboard layout of Inscript Keyboard ?

The key mappings of Devanagari Hindi inscript keyboard is given in below image. In first appearance it looks complicated, but the realty is not same. If you practice with proper Devanagari Inscript typing tutor you can learn this keyboard in just 3-4 days only.

Remington Gail Hindi Typing Exam

How to take typing test in Remington (Gail or CBI) Hindi Keyboard (Mangal Font)

1. Enter your name, select time duration for test, select passage for test or paste your own text passage for test.

2. Click on start test button and you will see passage to be typed appear on screen and you have to type in given box.

3. As you start typing your countdown timer will start automatically and submit upon time elapsed, or alternatively you can also submit test incase you have typed whole exercise text before completion of time.

4. Here you have option to enable or disable backspace key and hide and show the passage. You can enable or disable highlighter, and right and wrong word indicator as well.

5. After completion of exam test it will show you detailed report of your typing skill. The report includes:

A. Net WPM : Net Word Per Minute is the final typing speed you have achieved, it's derived by adjusting mistakes you have made during typing and time taken in test.

B. Accuracy : Accuracy is the ratio of correct words from gross words you have typed. Accuracy is measured in percentage.

C. Mistakes : The typing skill test report will also show mistakes you have made during typing by categories them. This complete analysis will help you in identify the type of errors you have making while typing so you can practice to mitigate them next time.

Remington Gail or CBI Keyboard Layout

Remington Gail or CBI keyboard is the Hindi keyboard layout shares same layout as Krutidev font with minor differences. These keyboard are developed to make harmony with exiting practice of Hindi typing in Krutidev font.

These keyboard supports Unicode based fonts which are different from non-Unicode krutidev font. These keyboard layout is allowed for typing in many government typing test examinations like : SSC, CPCT, FCI and many more central and state govt. exams.

Krutidev/Devlys Hindi Typing Exam

For preparing of Hindi Typing Test Exam, you can take test on Exam like software. Just enter your name, select time, select passage or upload your own passage and start test. Here you have exam like environment, passage will appear on upper box and you have to type lower text box.

As you start typing, your timer starts automatically and test will be submit upon time elapsed, you can also submit it before completion of time if you complete the exercise before completion of time. Here you have option to use backspace or you can disable it. After completing exam test. It will show you detailed report of your typing skill.

Keyboard layout for Krutidev Hindi Typing Test Exam

You can use your QWERTY keyboard for typing in Krutidev Test. The key mappings of Kritidev font is same as on Hindi typewriter machines. The layout is known as Remington Layout. The keys that are not found on keyboard map can be typed using Alt key with Krutidev character code. The Krutidev keyboard layout is displayed in below image.
