SSC LDC, DEO, JSA, Tax Asst. Typing Test Hindi (Inscript)

The SSC has many tier in it's recruitment process depend upon the post. For many of the positions such as Lower Division Clerk (LDC), Data Entry Operator (DEO), JSA and Tax Assistant SSC conducts Typing Skill Test in the second phase of exam, candidates have to appear and qualify the typing test. In the typing test you will be asked to type a passage (Printed on Paper or Shows on Screen) in computer system. The typing test will have option to choose from English and Hindi language.

As you start typing your timer will start. After completing typing test, it will show you detailed analysis of your typing skill, Key Depression and WPM Speed as per formula prescribed by the SSC. The Hindi typing test designed to practice Hindi Inscript keyboard layout. Here you can choose the practice passage and upload your own too. Choose how many key depression passage you want to practice and after completion of test you would see detailed analysis of your typing skill along with result.

SSC Typing Test Evaluation

Typing Test Exam - In typing skill test you will given a passage of limited key depression for typing in fixed time duration. Candidate have to copy (type) the given passage (passage can be given on printed paper or displayed on screen) in a text box. If you have typed the whole passage before time and have spare time you can check and correct your typing errors. For SSC DEST test is qualifying test marks will not be awarded for typing test.

In the SSC typing test 5 key depression are count as a "Word".

For Example the sentence "हम सब भारतीय है "  As you can see here total 15 Key Depressions (equivalent to 3 Words). To qualify SSC Typing Test you have to achieve a typing speed as per post you have applied. The qualifying criteria is different-different for different positions.

According to last year's error evaluation rules, a relaxation of 7% errors is applied for the UR Category, while 10% errors are relaxed for other categories.

Calculation of Errors

SSC evaluates the typing test scripts by a specialized software and the calculation of error's are divided into two parts namely Full mistake and Half Mistake. The good news is that you can correct error's many times there is no restriction.

Here you have exam like environment, the qualifying criteria is different-different according to the position so here we have given option to select key-depression or words wise passage for practice. On the typing screen passage will appear on upper side of screen (can be hide and you can type from paper) and you have to type in given text box. You can correct typed words anytime. The test duration will be 10 or 15 minutes as per post. Here the highlighting and auto-scroll (you can disable it) is given for practice purpose the same will not available in SSC Typing Test.

Calculation of Errors

NATURE OF MISTAKES

A. Full Mistakes : The following errors are treated as full mistakes :-

i. For every omission of a word/figure.

ii. For every substitution of a wrong word/figure, except transposition of words.

iii. For every addition of a word/figure not found in the passage.

iv. For every spelling error committed by way of repetition, or addition, or omission, or substitution of a letter/letters, e.g. the word ‘spelling’ typed as seeplings; seplling; speling; seepling; spelling etc. v. For repetition of word/figure, e.g. ‘I shall shall be grateful ……….’

vi. Incomplete words (half typed words will be treated as mistake).

B. Half Mistakes : The following errors are treated as half mistakes :-

i. Spacing Errors : Where no space is provided between two words, e.g. ‘Ihope’, or undesired space is provided between the words or letters of a word e.g. ‘I have’, ‘I h ave’ (space left between a word).

ii. Wrong Capitalisation : Wrong typing of a capital letter for small letter or vice-versa. (This does not apply in respect of Hindi Typewriting scripts)

iii. Punctuation Errors : Where the punctuation mark is omitted or added or substituted by another.

iv. Transposition Errors : Where words are transposed, e.g. the words ‘I hope’ typed as ‘hope I’.

v. Paragraphic Errors : Half mistake shall be treated for each irrational para, where the space given before starting of any paragraph is not uniform, i.e paragraph given manual spaces; without pressing the Tab Key, will be treated half-mistake.

UPSSSC Junior Assistant Typing Test

The UPSSSC issued the notification for Junior Assistant (कनिष्ठ सहायक) Typing Test. The second phase of UPSSSC Junior Assistant recruitment is Typing Test (टंकण परीक्षा). The Typing test will be conducted for both English and Hindi Language. The Typing test will be conducted from 19 December 2024. The Typing Test Will be of qualifying nature means you to have achieve a qualified speed in Word Per Minutes (WPM) to pass the test the qualifying criteria would be 30 WPM for English typing test and 25 WPM for Hindi typing test.

Typing Test Dates : Starts from 19 December 2024

Typing Test Pattern

Typing speed test will be conducted separately for Hindi and English language. Candidate have to appear and qualify in both tests. 

1. English Typing Speed Test

a. Time Duration : 5 Minutes

b. Qualifying Speed (WPM) : 30

UPSSSC Junior Assistant WPM Speed Calculation formula

Error Admissible : 5 Error (If Errors are more than five than for every error committed after 5 error, will be a penalty of 5 words)

For Example : If in the test of 5 minutes a candidate have typed total 200 words in which he/she made 11 errors then the calculation will be like:

Total words typed by candidate = 200

Error words = 11

Error Admissible = 5

Penalty = 11 - 5 = 6 * 5 = 30

Total Right words = 200 - 30 = 170

WPM Speed = 170 / 5 = 34 WPM

RSMSSB Junior Assistant & LDC Grade II Typing Test Hindi (Devlys 010 Font)

RSMSSB/RSSB has declared the result of Junior Assistant and LDC written exam and now in the second phase of exam, candidates have to appear and score in the typing test. The typing test will consist two parts first one is "Typing Speed Test" and second is "Typing Efficiency Test". The both test will taken for Hindi as well as English language separately and the candidate have to pass all four test and marks will be given for each test.  

For RSSB Typing Speed Test (Hindi - Devlys 010) 2025 preparation, you can take test on exam like software. Here you have exam like environment, passage will appear on upper side and you have to type bottom text box. You can correct any word until you have pressed space-bar, once you have presses space-bar, you can't correct the word. There is no highlighter and you have to manually scroll down the passage if needed. The test duration will be 10 minutes. 

As you start typing your timer will start and will submit upon time elapsed. You can also submit it when you want. After completing test, it will show you detailed analysis of your typing skills and marks you have obtained as per formula of RSMSSB Hindi Typing Test.

Keyboard layout for Devlys Hindi Typing Test

You can use your QWERTY keyboard for typing in Devlys Test. The key mappings of Devlys 010 font is same as on Hindi typewriter machines. The layout is known as Remington Layout. The keys that are not found on keyboard map can be typed using Alt key with Devlys character code. The Devlys keyboard layout is displayed in below image.

Typing Test Evaluation Formula (Hindi)

In word base calculation a set of characters separated by space consider as a word. The word count regardless of how many characters in it. For Example the sentence "हम राजस्थान राज्य में रहते है"  As you can see here total 6 words. The Jr. Asst. & LDC Typing test will be evaluated by the computer software.

Maximum Marks : 25

Minimum Marks Required to qualify the test : 9

Marks Obtained : (Total Correct Words * 0.0625 ) 

Example : Suppose the A candidate typed total 360 words in 10 Minutes in which he typed 330 correct words:

Marks obtained = (330 * 0.0625) = 20.625

Wrong words criteria

1. Every word which a typed wrong or didn't match with given passage.
2. Every word omitted during test
3. Every double typed word
4. Repeated use of Matra's which are not visible on screen but fetched in evaluation (for Hindi)

Tips for Qualify Typing Test

1. Your body posture should be proper while you typing. Your eyes should in level of screen and keyboard should be it level of your elbow.

2. Always type without seeing the keyboard. It will saves your lot of time during typing test. If you don't know touch typing learn with Hindi Typing Tutor.

3. Read whole sentence and then type it.

4. Your focus should be on typing not on the timer.
